The Provider Payment Mechanisms Spotlight Series is a highly flexible, responsive and country-driven instrument designed to bring JLN countries together on topics of high demand. The Spotlight Series focused deeply on payment system policy and technical issues that member countries face.

These exchanges allow countries to dive more deeply into the specific design, implementation and monitoring & evaluation of payment systems in individual countries, and draw generalizable lessons that will be useful across the JLN and beyond.

The Spotlight Series will be hosted through a series of webinars and in-person meetings hosted by interested countries willing to share a deep study of their systems. The process will move toward a knowledge product (guidance note, tool kit or other practical product) that contributes to global understanding by synthesizing country experience, common challenges, creative solutions, and lessons learned.

How is the Spotlight Series organized?

  • Member countries identify a critical provider payment topic that is on the policy agenda for which the country would like to get feedback and learn from others.
  • The technical team will facilitate a deep-dive discussion to gather country experience on the topic of interest through virtual and in-person learning exchanges using a combination of webinars to describe the current situation and provider payment policy issues, 2-3 in-person meetings to dig deeply into a technical issue and exchange experiences, and Member Portal discussions.
  • Develop a synthesis product (guidance note, tool kit or other practical product) that contributes to the global knowledge base synthesizing country experience, common challenges, creative solutions, and lessons learned.
