Global Conference on Primary Health Care

Thursday 10/25/18 – Friday 10/26/18
Location: Astana, Kazakhstan

40 years after the Declaration of Alma-Ata, which promoted the importance of strong primary health care for universal health coverage, global health leaders are convening in Astana, Kazakhstan, for the Global Conference on Primary Health Care.

The Conference, co-hosted by the Government of Kazakhstan, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the United Nations Children's Fund, will re-assert the central role that primary health care plays in a country's journey to universal health coverage.

JLN Member countries understand this importance and have co-developed a set of resources that can be adapted and used by countries to strengthen their primary health care systems.
