Countries on the path to UHC have experienced sustained economic growth in recent years, enabling increased domestic financing for UHC goals.

However, countries are also experiencing profound changes in their health financing systems, such as how efficiently and equitably sufficient revenues are raised, pooled and allocated to purchase health services.

The Revisiting Health Financing initiative aims to understand how policymakers have been navigating the balance of resource needs, resource availability and resource utilization and innovating upon their own past practices to meet the critical and complex health financing challenges posed by the pursuit of UHC.
